Sales Code offers mentoring based on your unique results from the CliftonStrengths talent assessment that you will have completed before joining the program. This will ensure that you and your mentor have a clear understanding of which of your talents can best be applied to achieve the goals that you agree at to work on together.

Trust between a mentor and mentee is critical to the success of your relationship so you will have a free 15 minute chemistry discussion prior to starting to ensure that there is a good fit between your needs and the mentor's experience.

The mentoring process then begins with a dialogue focussing on two key questions:

Where do you want to be?

It can be surprising how glib and casual some people can be when answering this question. Focus your thinking on what success looks like to you. Consider success in the next 6 months, 12 months and 3 years.

How are we going to get there?

Next the mentor will begin working with you to develop a strategy that is realistic,  achievable based on your timescales, and  aligns with your overall vision. This will incorporate their experiences and knowledge combined with yours. The strategy may stretch your comfort zones, it may make you feel uncomfortable, it may make you incredibly excited – usually it is a combination of all of these.

Execution is key

As enjoyable as it is focusing on plans and the spreadsheet millions that could be made, the hard work begins when you leave the mentor and execute the strategy. Don't expect that everything will go to plan, after all you are working with a mentor, not a fortune teller. Keep moving forward, do not let any setbacks stop you or hold you back.

Steering the boat

Each follow-up meeting with the mentor will include your update of each agreed action and corrective actions to keep your progress moving forward to achieve your goals. This will also involve strategy reviews to ensure that the original plan is still appropriate given your experiences to date.
